Pizza
Every country has its own distinctive style of pizza. If I were to rank Italy, Morocco and Sweden in terms of pizza, that’s exactly the order I’d put them in. Pizza in Morocco is often tastier than in Sweden. It often has a charcoal-grilled flavour, even at cheaper eateries.
As for toppings, I’d say tuna is the safest bet. It’s hard to go wrong with a tuna pizza. The best pizza I’ve eaten in Morocco was in Nador. It was topped with fish and prawns and quite expensive by Moroccan standards.
Vegetarian pizza is a bit of a gamble in Morocco. I’ve had incredibly tasty vegetarian pizza in Morocco, both in Nador and Marrakech, with mozzarella and plenty of fresh vegetables, which was also cheap. Some vegetarian pizzas have tasted like frozen pizza. In Meknes, I ate a pizza that was scary, topped with overcooked carrots.
