Snack – fast food
The word snack is something I often sea when I’m out walking in The Rif. A snack place is a fairly simple restaurant that serves fast food.
No matter which fast-food place I go to, the menu is usually the same. Sandwiches, pizza, chips and salad. Soup, pasta and omelettes are also available. Tacos are not uncommon.
My favourite fast-food place is in Nador, on a street full of bus traffic. When I lived there, I used to order grilled chicken with carrots, avocado and tomato. The meat always tasted fresh and was well seasoned. The chef arranged the vegetables and sauces like a painting. The price was cheap. With my meal, I drank panache. The staff were friendly and remembered what I wanted to eat. If I was cold and wanted tea with my meal, they would bring it to me from the café next door.
